Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops, about 1-inch thick Salt and pepper, to taste 1 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon onion powder 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons butter Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Step 1
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better and ensures a good sear.
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season both sides of the pork chops generously with this mixture.
Step 3
Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter. Let the butter melt and heat until it starts to foam slightly.
Step 4
Carefully place the seasoned pork chops in the hot pan. Cook without moving for about 4-5 minutes on the first side, or until nicely browned and a crust has formed.
Step 5
Flip the pork chops using tongs. Cook for another 4-5 minutes on the second side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium doneness.
Step 6
Once cooked through, remove the pork chops from the pan and let them rest on a plate for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
